Tim Vaughan, 48 moved to Jessamine County 33 years ago for its rural scenery. Protecting that farmland is what made him run for 2nd district magistrate 19 years ago. He is seeking re-election in the November election.
Because the Fiscal court has the final say on zone changes. Tim decided to run for office and become a magistrate He wanted to make sure that Jessamine County protected the beautiful farm land.
Tim is running for re-election for several reasons. One reason is that he wants to make sure the comprehensive land use plan continues to be followed, as the fiscal court has the vote on zone changes.
Through a chamber of commerce leadership group, Tim had the opportunity to visit other communities similar to Jessamine County and wants to use those experiences to help bring job growth to the area.
With U.S. 27 now a business road, it is important to keep U.S. 68 with its somewhat rural landscape.
In his time as 2nd district magistrate, Tim has been able pass a noise ordinance pertaining to a barking dog problem, was instrumental in obtaining state funding for guardrails needed on county roads and advocated building a full-service emergency building on U.S. 68. Tim also supported quarterly meetings between the county, city of Nicholasville and city of Wilmore, and would like to have those meetings continue.
Tim has brought his eleven years of experience and an ability to problem solve to the magistrate position.
If somebody calls and has a problem, Tim has experience with what will or won't work, and who are the people to discuss the issue to get it resolved. Tim enjoys being able to work on a problem for somebody and seeing it through to the finish.
If re-elected, Tim would like to work to put a guardrail on Glass Mill Road and other bridge repairs.
“There’s a lot of issues that I hope to get re-elected to work on,” Tim Vaughan
